Message: Entry: The Relativist Roots of Libertarianism Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/the_relativist_roots_of_libertarianism#25572 Post contents: McBrown, I'd rather not re-hash the drug debate, other than to say I did not admit what you say I did, and I do not admit it now. In fact, I stated at that time and still believe that on balance the drug war was good, in spite of its shaky constitutional foundations on the federal level, because it provides an easy mean to identify and incarcerate violent individuals for a long time, and it's succeeding in lowering violent crime. I also mocked these individuals as a bunch of worthless hoodlums obsessed with 26" rims and "corn rows" (or meth mouth in the case of trailer trash), as you may recall. I also want to say that you really gave me a lot to think about when you said, "Hey, Rip Van Winkle, we’re in the 21st century now! The entire nation isn’t white or Christian!" And, I also found your point compelling that the "United States of America has a Bill of Rights. You want to throw that out the window." Very interesting stuff. Sent at: 2008 12 02
