The understated purpose was to show how the Scots and other countries HAD to change and act like the Japanese. Near the end, an interviewer was lamenting to a young worker about Scotland's failure to follow the Japanese model when the Scot literally screamed at the interviewer "I don't want to be Japanese, I'm a Scot!"
