A radical, black president could break the framework of 'mainstream' party politics completely, creating more parties and firmer positions without compromise to serve consensus, the principle that trumps all others. I foresee, as Paul Gottfried said, 'the icebreaker for the counter-revolution.' Barack Obama is Salvador Allende; he is Buonaparte; he is the Spanish Second Republic. Of course, this is only what he could potentially be. I am confident that his régime will be terrible enough to merit his being overthrown, but I do not underestimate the powers of the media to advance and direct their agenda despite reason indicating that the opposite of what they say is true. We will have to wait and see. It depends on their vigilance. The slightest slack, the tiniest miscalculation, could doom the powers that be.
