If anything, the Western equivalent would be the Carlists, French Legitimists, Jacobites, and so on. The more militant traditionalist defenders of the Old Faith of two millenia and the old ways and good customs of our ancient Christian civilisation -- these are the Western 'samurai,' not the paleocons, who enjoy an intellectual patrimony a shade over two centuries old and rooted in moderate liberalism.
