Blacks, of course, are expected to vote for him because of race and not judged for doing so. West Virginia Democrats notoriously vote straight party ticket - I grew up there and still visit there and have never heard anyone praise Byrd, by the way. He is just elected because he is the Democrat. Stupid party politics, but not groveling at the porl table. He is just building monuments to himself.
