Message: Entry: Racialism As Pseudo-'Science' Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/racialism_as_pseudo_science#26613 Post contents: The essay by Justin Raimondo demonstrates very well why there can never be lasting unity between traditionalists and libertarians. My mentor Russell Kirk' label is correct: these folks are "chirping sectaries." Although Mr. Raimondo, to his credit, has clearly indicated that he rejects some of the more extreme anarcho-formulations of libertarian philosophy, some of his friends over at Lew Rockwell continue to inch closer to full-blown anarchism, including full "open border" views, embracing pacificism (based on an incomplete interpretation of Holy Scripture, and without any reference to the constant teaching Magisterium of the Church), the positing of "property rights" (and the primacy of the economic) as the chief object ("happiness") in life, etc. To suggest that there are indeed verifiable racial differences does not per se imply determinism, nor does does it necessarily imply resultant prejudice or hatred based solely on one's race. It does mean that various explanations for social actions and interactions, without reference to racial differences, may well be faulty, and that such faulty reasoning (and resultant applications of flawed social programs) may well have a lot to do with race and the social disasters we have seen in past decades. Race and racial difference is the 900 pound gorilla in the American room: both the Left and the soft-minded Right would like to ignore the fact that he IS in the room. Until we begin to recognize that fact, we will continue to recede into the backwaters of history. One last note: Obama, in my opinion, is a complete fraud. He (and his handlers) presents himself as a "new Messiah," when in fact he is a leftist demogogue. Traditional conservatives have no option this year in our managerial state, except perhaps to vote for Chuck Baldwin (or in my case, where Democrats and Republican impede any other party from getting on the ballot) writing in a name.
