Message: Entry: Racialism As Pseudo-'Science' Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/racialism_as_pseudo_science#26659 Post contents: Intelligence is an amalgam of multiple abilities. We have historically focused on abstract reasoning, what the psychologist would term "g." This is one aspect of intelligence. This has proven a reasonable approach for a homogenos group, however, one must acknowledge that particular hroups may inherit other aspects of intelligence out of proportion to "g." Certain professions and trades may be influenced by other aspects of intelligence, thus, a member of one race whose "g" may be lower may be just as capable at a particular task not requiring "g" as a member of another race with a higher "g." In a multicultural reality we need more focused aptitude tests that predict what particular abilities predict sucess in sundry occupations. Sent at: 2008 12 02
