Message: Entry: Hail the Great Transcender! Link: http://www.takimag.com/sniperstower/article/hail_the_great_transcender#26751 Post contents: What should the state do if there are genetic differences –of any kind- among its citizens? Why, nothing. A more interesting question, because of the association of race and slavery in America is: do the descendants of slaves have rights to any kind of restitution? Similarly does the state owe anything to the Native Americans (“Indians”) whose ancestors were nearly exterminated and who were chased off the land? Should the state transfer income or implement some form of preferential treatment in order to redress past wrongs? If so, how much and for how long? Sent at: 2009 01 09
