The prayers were in the Latin language, and the word used was "perfidis", which has the meaning of "faithless" in the original context. The Latin "perfidis" CAN be used to mean "treacherous", but it is a logical deduction from the prayer that the view of the Church is that the Jews are considered "faithless", and any "treachery" is a result of that faithlessness. Anyway, it's a moot point, because who really cares what people think about the Mass? It is what it is. Sent at: 2008 12 01
