That is, the same norms regarding personal liberty, the acquisition and transfer of property, contractual relations and free association, and restitution apply equally to all members of all racial or ethnic categories. Also, I think those making heredity-based arguments to explain the so-called achievement gap ought to acknowledge that injustices perpetrated in the past by white slave traders and slave owners would at least be partly reponsible for the hereditary endowments of the descendents of slaves. As such, this genetic data (if meaningful) is not entirely exogenous to the moral evaluation of the historical relations between the races (although it may well be exogenous to the evaluation of present behavior). Therefore, whites may not use such evidence to completely absolve themselves and their ancestors of all (group-level) moral responsibility for present outcomes simply on the basis of their traceability to differential IQ scores.
