There are plenty ofinstances where the US showing up and standing around for a day or so can do good. Liberia a few years ago would be an example. The problem is they apply that belief to every possible problem. We can't invade and occupy an oil rich middle eastern country any more than we could have liberated the gulags in the USSR circa...I don't know 1976 or something.
