Still, I think the problem lies not with the principle of reciprocity, but as I tried to point out in another thread, most people, secularized individuals and nominal Christians, cannot explain why human beings are different from other animals, and why they deserve "special treatment." If those who cannot offer a coherent explanation for the "intuition" or ingrained custom and belief behind justice would admit their ignorance, then perhaps they could be convinced of the need for Divine Revelation to teach men that they should not kill one another.
