Nixon was a realist. The incessant demographic trends in the region do not lend confidence for Israeli survival. At some point, confrontation with a likely fate should prove sobering. Some Israelis might decide to abandon the state and emigrate; while others might resort to desperate measures. The future of the middle east is likely to be increasingly dangerous as the balance of forces equations change. Sent at: 2008 11 20
