Let me clarify what I was suggesting obliquely: personally I don't dispute the essential truth of Christianity or that the "visible" Church represents Christ on Earth, and I don't believe all religions are equally true. However, many of those who do not profess Christianity can be closer to Christ - insofar as they strive toward a love of Truth, ie the Holy Spirit - than many professed Christians who don't.
