We receive the exportable content of U.S. culture, but we lack the immunity that many if not most Americans have developed to their own culture. This is an ideology that the U.S. is exporting to the rest of the world through its domination of the media. I don't think it's any coincidence that the most vulnerable countries are English-speaking ones, like Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. They understand the message.
