Actually I wouldn't care to have the Hanson tutoring Greek history any more than I would want to have him teaching World War One. He confuses narratives and presents the Spartans as stand-ins for the Kaiser's Germany and Athens as a society of global democratic Wilsonians. He also drags over this anachronistic interpretative grid for the American Civil War; the last time I checked, Hanson had turned Sherman into Pershing or Eisenhower. Sent at: 2009 01 08
