Message: Entry: cultural revolution Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/cultural_revolution#2957 Post contents: Sir, May I congratulate you on your incisive review of Dr Sean Gabb's compellingly argued book, the sentiments of which I almost entirely agree with. Sadly, my wife and I gave up the unequal struggle and moved away last year from the South East of England. I say sadly, because we and our parents before us, had lived in our beautiful previous home for 42 years. Mass unsupervised and generally low quality immigration finally persuaded us to move away. During my working life as a navigating officer in the British merchant navy I visited many countries from N. and S. America, Africa, India, Australia and the Far East. Reasoning quietly now about my travels then and my pleasure each time at returning to my own country, England, it struck me that the main reason for this feeling was that I was back amongst my own people where customs and culture were familiar to me. I had a right then, and I still do now, to freely associate with people and cultures that I feel comfortable with. Sadly, that place is no longer in Enland. Sent at: 2008 12 02
