That was one of the few instances in which I strongly disagreed with Buchanan, but his position on that should be understood in the context of his view that "men who believe deeply in something, even when wrong, usually triumph over men who believe in nothing." Thus, nihilistic degenerates who don't like Islam simply because it's a belief in something are not good allies for those who oppose the threat posed by Islam to Euro-Christian cultures. I agree, but I disagree on the specific cartoon issue and question whether that was a good moment for Mr. Buchanan's Maistrian critique of this larger issue. Sent at: 2008 12 01
