What is most frightening is not the 'hate' laws per se but rather the expansion of a quasi-judicial system that deprives the defendant of protections that exist in a normal court of law. And where is Prime Minister Harper and the 'Conservative' party in all this? He has the power to amend the legislation in question. At the very least, he can speak out against what is happening.
