The major problem plaguing America today is not Mexican immigration. The major problem lies with our elites. They are running America into the ditch with unrestrained domestic spending, unrestrained foreign interventionism, and a total disregard for our republican form of government. Our elites are importing Mexicans for two reasons: 1) our corporate elites want to saturate the labor market, thus lowering wage rates. 2) our government-based elites want to import poverty so as to increase the overall need for their product (i.e. social engineering). BUT, our elites may be miscalculating. The massive influx of Mexicans into the SW may eventually pose the greatest challenge to the federal government since Appomattox. The Mexicans may well ignore the federal government and defy its laws, thus opening the way for a more generalized challenge to American statism. If that is the case, then the loss of the SW would be a small price to pay. Sent at: 2008 12 05
