That is, Reconstruction has succeeded in transforming the various people of the South into Yankees all too well. As for the role of "Christian Progressives" in shaping the United States, in particular the South, how can the great plurality of Southrons, Baptists, be considered "progressive"? Southern Baptists support the "progressive" United States today IN SPITE of their non-progressive faith. That is because they are not informed by their faith, but by secularism.
