Message: Entry: Homo Americanus Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/homo_americanus#3533 Post contents: I think that many of you focus too much on the "americanus" part. What Sunic means is that "homo americanus" is a new type of man who's ORIGIN is in America. Almost everything that is mentioned as being typical characteristics of the homo americanus can easily be recognized here in Europe too. The "americanus" is thus a misnomer. I'm not very well versed in Latin, but I suggest the name be changed to "homo zombicus televisionicus", the tv zombie man. I can for sure confirm that this new breed of man can easily be spotted here in Sweden as well. All you have to do to find one is simply open your eyes. If Mr Gottfried asks his friend Mr Sunic what language he speaks, I'm pretty sure that the answer will NOT be Serbo-Croatian. The language in Croatia is Croatian. That other term is a dead attempt by communist politicians to amagalmate Croatians into the Serb nation. Adriana, Croatian nationalists exist primarily in the anticatholic and antichristian leftist Western press. We have more ugly nationalism here in tranquil Sweden than I have ever encountered in Croatia. The Croatians are very patriotic, which by clueless and malicious people is translated into nationalism. The difference between nationalism and patriotism is that nationalists first and foremost need to make their country and/or people or race into the "best", so that they may belittle or ridicule others. It is from this they get their rush. Patriots love their country and/or people, no matter if they're the "best" or the "worst". One interesting thing to know about Croatia is that it has repeatedly been called "the most Catholic country in the world". The late John Paul II, who visited Croatia five times said so on several occasions. Also older encyclopedias, swedish ones at least, mention that Croatians are "more Catholic than Italians and Spaniards". Probably I am being paranoid, but I would like to know that Adriana is not a nationalist before I trust in what she says. Well Adiana? How did that sound to you? Sent at: 2008 09 06
