This is the Kirk whom I don't (yet) know. Roepke's influence on Erhard, and thus in turn on Germany's _Wirtschaftwunder_, needs to be better known. After the 30 Years War, it took Middle Europe a century to recover economically and intellectually. Thanks to Roepke and Erhard, after World War II the economic recovery, at least in the west, was complete in 15 years. Catholic Social Teaching works. It is the Poe, the Cooper, the Emerson, the Thomas Mann, and the Lincoln whom the English reading public doesn't know that needs more attention. Now it seems that the same might be said about Kirk.
