As an atheist, I find their outpourings equally as repugnant as the Muslim point of view. I live in a European country where, for good or bad, the law is based on ancient judeo-christian values. The ten commandments, as written in the bible, seem to be a fair and just, acceptable set of social rules. That has been the basis of european law. I do not wish to for those laws to be changed to allow bigamy, child beating, wife beating, censorship, the removal of free will and everything else that comes with the importation of yet another religion, let alone one that is stuck in the dark ages. Religion and superstition must be removed from the state and the law. We had moved towards that for years. To begin to change those laws, which I am prepared to accept and live by, to accomodate a foreign and barbaric religion, is not my idea of the way forward. I will protest this in Brussels.
