Orwell was the better literary artist, Huxley the better prophet. _1984_ is better written; _Brave New World_ is the better prognosis. The conservative principle: Human community and society are held together by history, habit, custom, tradition, ceremony, and consecration. Take these away, and humans become simian. (The "far right" has other principles.) Some history, habit, etc. are bad. The leadership with prudence will improve them with care, not abolish them.
