However, it would be quite wrong to sheet the blame home solely to parvenue developers when the whole sorry mess was facilitated by the elites who ought to have known better. As Taki asserts, Greece doesn't require new laws. It requires greater respect for the rule of law. One can only hope articles such as this will shift the political culture. It would be great if Taki could apply his insight into more of the problems facing the "patrida". Perhaps a regular column in a Greek broadsheet would shame the powers that be into change.
