Message: Entry: Chavez in Wonderland (Episode Two) Link: http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/chavez_in_wonderland_episode_two#4654 Post contents: @david Are the people in Venezuela not poor? Are they not poorly educated? Does not their political history seem to be a collection of miliary strongment and corrupt politicians, said tradition of violence and corruptin being the main cause of their being poor and ignorant? I am not blaming the people themselves but their ruling class who only rule for their own benefit. I make the point that people in those conditions have at least an excuse for believeing in "saviors" like Chavez. The US people are overwhelmingly middle class, with an abundance of goods that is out of reach of most Venezuelans, they are all literate, and can find information readily available to them if only they look for it. And they still elected George W. Bush. Their responsibility is much greater. As for choosing the "lesser" evil, I would stop, if you could point out a way of not choosing the lesser that does not result in choosing the greater.
