The 2nd Great Awakening of the 1830s, esp. the Cambellites (Disciples of Christ) and the "Church of Christ" and the 7th Day Adventists iv. around 1900, the Fundamentalists emerge as a negative response to "higher criticism" (historical-critical Biblical scholarship) and Darwinsim; at the same time the Pentecostals and the Dispensationalists begin. v.
