They were carried out by Muslims, in both cases, right? So, why is there an attempt to silence crimes committed by Muslims, as Muslims (as opposed to crimes such as armed robbery, which are committed for the same reasons that non-Muslims commit them, to get money). Would it have to do with the constant trumpeting that "Thanks to Homeland Security and the Patriot Act, and the Vigilance of President Bush there have been no more terrorist attacks in the US" If they start carrying a tally of acts like you describe then there may be the suspicion that instead of going after spectacular targets like the World Trade Center, terrorists are switching targets into small, unnoticiable attacks that tear up communities from the inside.
