Message: Entry: Two New Myth-Busting Books Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/two_new_myth_busting_books#5089 Post contents: If one reads the available documentation reflecting the debates and discussions associated with the ratifying conventions of the respective states, one is compelled to conclude that the Constitution would have never been ratified had the understanding of the commerce clause been that which the courts have spun it to mean today. One is likely wise compelled to remember that the Constitution gets any lawful authority which it might have - not from the drafters, the framers, the Congress or any court - but from the ratifiers in whom the authority is vested.
