The problem with smaller parties are that they tend to be crazy. Not their ideology, but their members. The rule is that anyone who has talent will migrate to the major parties where they can have a future and what is left are the incompetents and the crazies. And since crazies tend to act crazy, they tend to chase away sensible people. There are a lot of small parties out there which can be described the same way as science fiction fandom. The problem is that when the major parties disappear, you have a lot of people who have no idea what it means to govern who get the chance to be in charge. The last time it happened was in Spain in 1931. Five years later there was the big Civil War. I do hope that the Greek parties are in better health than that. Sent at: 2008 11 22
