He proves the truism known to most police investigators that a thorough enough circumstantial case can be more persuasive than eye witness testimony or even some forensics. But Machtan is also careful not to overstate his thesis. He does not contend that Hitler's sexual vices or those of other Nazis are the key or even the most important fact to understanding Hitler or Naziism.
