I took a photo of him on TV that night with my Brownie camera which turned out pretty good. Later in the year when we visited relatives in LA my Dad went by himself to see his cousin Charles King (Criswell was his mother's maiden name which he took as a stage name). I never knew why my Dad didn't include the rest of the family in the visit until I saw Tim Burton's ED WOOD. Maybe Criswell and WC Fields shared the same distain for children or my Dad was "shielding" his kids from "rumors" he may have heard. I am researching all I can find about my "unique" second-cousin for the family tree if anyone reading this has information to share. Perhaps I may attend Cristennial 100+1 next August.
