Therefore he that resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God. And they that resist, purchase to themselves damnation” Rom 13:1-2 The martyrs did not revolt against this Roman Empire because St Paul warned the early Roman Catholics that if they did resist the power of the Roman Empire then they would resisteth the ordinance of God and these Roman Catholics would purchase to themselves damnation.
