Again, It was not a political act to refuse to offer a pinch of incense as a gesture of veneration of the Emperor as God. Jesus Christ told His disciples: “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.” Caesar is not God. Roman Catholic Citizens are not allowed to offer incense to Caesar as God. It is a religious act on the Roman Martyrs part, not a political act.
