Message: Entry: Holy Thursday: Sangria in the Streets Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/holy_thursday_sangria_in_the_streets#703 Post contents: John Zmirak, Pax vobicsum, and thank you for this! And I think you are the Roman Catholic Church's INGENIUS retort to the likes of Goebbels! You, Sir, are an ingenius propagandist of how and why it's jolly good FUN to be a Catholic! (Including very BAD and badly behaved Catholics like yours truly.) I had a good friend who was an Irish Catholic nun - a crippled lady, by the way - and once she asked me, "John, what do you think will be the first words God says to you after you die?" I said I don't know. She said, "God will ask you: 'Did you enjoy yourself?'" ;-) And greetings on Holy Thursday, to all of our Protestant friends and readers, and our Jewish friends and readers too. Please let us all remember that Holy Thursday was the last Passover Feast which Jesus celebrated in his mortal lifetime. And so we Christians are in communion with our Jewish brothers tonight, as we will be as our Jewish brothers celebrate Passover. And to any Muslim friends of ours: Salaam Aliukum, from us Nazarenes who worship Jesus, the second highest prophet of Islam. (Who ought to be the highest prophet of Islam, but we can argue about that later. And of course we Catholics will win that argument in the long run ;-) And to all our atheist or agnostic friends: Eh, as Fluellen said to Henry V (in Shakespeare's version), "I need never be ashamed of you, as long as you are an honest man." You're all invited to our parties too. (Big grin and a wink here...) Sent at: 2008 10 16
