Message: Entry: Thoughts on the Antichrist: Part III, Breaking the Body of Christ Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/thoughts_on_the_antichrist_part_iii_breaking_the_body_of_christ#772 Post contents: Our gratitude to Mr. Richert for a trilogy well-mused and well-shared. This may cause a shudder and the can of Raid to be drawn nearer, but as a Catholic, I understand terms like "liberal" and "conservative" or "republican" and "democrat" the way I understand mustard or catsup: mere flavors. Catholicism is Prime Rib hosted by the Holy Spirit, sliced to perfection by the Pope, served by the Patriarchs and topped with the Magisterium's hearty au jus. Imho, if Catholics think they need to put mustard or catsup on it, they're at the wrong banquet. It is amusing (in a fight-or-flight way) to see how some bloggers place an enormous importance upon the American Catholic Church online, when a deacon from a European country assures us that this importance doesn't exactly shatter the earth any further than St. Blog's parish borders. Indeed, we are seeing Solovyev's prophecy, but I'm not going to stand in the hemlock'd Koolaid line just yet (or ever). The Church (even here in the States we make up 20-something %) is also still made up of millions of non-blogging faithful who hold her up while priests edit magazines and pen smoky novels, and who feed the hungry delicious things while too many Catholic scholastics (theologians or Weigel-ish) debate war, Catechisms, and which Popes to follow. It's all enough to make a Saviour cry. But He won the war. A blessed Easter to all. Sent at: 2008 11 21
