"Tongue-in-cheek," possibly. But when someone states their admiration for a given head of state, you must consider the possibility, even probability that they support some or most of the policies of that person. Obviously this is not always the case. I'm not a mindreader and I don't know how Taki feels about some of the more brutal aspects of the people he professes to admire. Judging from his writing abnout neocons and the war on terror, I get a sense that he is genuinely opposed to state terror in all it's forms. Possibly I'm misinterpreting. Who know, even overreacting.
