Except, what's interesting, is that The West, and the United States in particular, may be the New Carthage. Who will play the Rome to the West's Carthage, if that is the case? Are "the barbarians at the gate" of America the Catholic Hispanics? If America is the "New Carthage", does that make Mexico the "New Rome"? Would it not be appropriate for the United States, a county that, just like Carthage, uses commericial trading, a superior navy (and, in modern times, air force), and a seemingly mercenary army to be eventually defeated by a people representing Roman [Catholic] Culutre?
