Message: Entry: Rev. Robertson Sells His Soul Link: http://www.takimag.com/site/article/rev_robertson_sells_his_soul#9081 Post contents: I don't consider my "White race" to be "important". I consider my Catholicism to be important, and my "White race" to be incidental. As a matter of fact, I reject this invetion of the Enlightenment you people call "the White race". My "race" are the very few of us Catholic Southern Appalachian Mountaineers. I proudly stand up for my "race" against such people as the Mexican Protestants, the American Protestants, the European Protestants, etc. Meanwhile, who do I count in my "race"? A growing number of Catholics from Mexico, some Catholics of African descent, a few Catholics of Vietanmese descent, and even fewer Catholics of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other even more exoctic descent. I will never, and I repeat: NEVER! stand shoulder-to-shoulder with my "brothers" of "the White race" in order to something such as make the Sacrifice of the Mass illegal, or illegalize the priesthood, as was done in England. Why should I turn my back on The Faith in order to have some sort of "racial solidarity" with a goup of people that despise me for holding The Faith? To the racists and nationalists that populate these boards: those positions aren't "conservative", but the positions of the revolutionary, best exlempified in the Enlightnment, and fulfilled by the French Revolution. If you want to be proud of your "race", take pride in your family, it's traditions, it's faith, it's accomplishments. If you are embarrassed by it's lack of traditions, faith, and accomplishments, don't try and graft yourself on to something that doesn't exist, namely "the White race". NOTE: The same thing goes for Americans of African descent! Don't fall for the claptrap that there's such a thing as "the Black race" - it was as much an invention as "the White race". You are all individuals, with individual family/tribe histories, and to try and claim the accomplishments of someone else as your own simply leads down the path of collectivism. Sent at: 2008 11 22
