As a child I attended a Presbyterian Church founded by Scots across the North Channel from Scotland but I never heard any of them use the language John Ball uses regularly here. In all likelihood his Scottish great granny would have been far more offended by Ball's language than by Taylor's views on race, which were the norm everywhere two generations ago. Sent at: 2008 11 22
