Here it has pretty much been taken over by the all war all the time, kill a raghead for Jesus and Israel crowd. I don't think there is any specific word or ideological designation for someone who loves and cares for his family without denying or minimizing its "disfunction" and without claiming that his family is superior to and should dominate all others. Nor do we need such a word. I am a Higdon. I am not a Higdonist nor do I believe in or practice Higdonism. If we don't deal ideologically with our own families, why should we do so with our country?
