Sowing Chaos?

Posted by Richard Spencer on April 23, 2008

As I was driving up to New York yesterday afternoon, Rush was gloating over “Operation Chaos”—McCain having sewn up the GOP nomination, you see, PA conservatives would register Democrat, vote for Hillary, and send the DNC into a protracted grudge-match death spiral.

I was beginning to warm to Rush when he was attacking McCain on all the right issue (save the war, which would be to much to expect), but after he lost that battle, “conservative” radio has returned to its GOP shilling default mode. The unwashed base’s efforts also all-to-easily play into the hands of the Weekly Standard crowd who don’t want to simply sow chaos but genuinely view Clinton as preferable to Obama because she’s far more likely to continue supporting the war and far less likely enact a change in our relationship with Israel.

Then, of course, there’s the question of whether the Chaos tactic will actually work. Although election fatigue is real, I find cogent the argument that the prolonged battle is inspiring more and more people to register Democrat (even if some are Chaos voters) and generally diminishing McCain’s profile in the news cycle. It’s also allowed the Rev. Wright and Sniper Fire scandals to come out early and then fade and/or be neutralized, losing the shock value they’d have in late October.

Limbaugh was worth listening to when he first came on the national scene.  Then the elder Bush invited him to spend the evening at the White House, and Limbaugh has been a reliable shill for the GOP ever since.

Remember though, George H.W. Bush is against this war, but Libaugh isn’t.

“Operation Chaos” is a revolting abuse of democracy. If your views are in line with one party, you should join that party and vote for whichever of its primary candidates you favor. Joining (on paper) another party just to screw up their nominating process is simply dishonest. That Limbaugh and others (probably not just Republicans) can’t see this is evidence of just how corrupt our political system has become.

Your remarks are right on about the intent of neocon-movement conservative
exhortations to vote for Hil. Some of my colleagues were foolish enough to go for the
bait.

Limbaugh’s “plan” is another reason to support a national primary day.

I listen to Rush and I think it is the case he is a political realist.

He is no fan of McCain and he has spent many hours detailing what a horrible President he will be.

Rush laments the reality nobody in the GOP defends American exceptionalism and conservatism.

Today he was speaking about how the Pubbies will win the Presidency but the Dems will increase their numbers in both the House and Senate (and with Snowe and Collins etc providing the libs a 60 vote Senate majority blocking pro life judges etc.)

I think it a bit late in the day to write about electoral process gamesmenship when I read nothing about Dems and libs helping chose McCain.

Payback is just what the libs needed.

Now, I am prolly gonna write in Blaise Pascal for President this year but I can hardly condemn anyone for voting on the basis of realism and if anyone thinks that Obama, Clinton or McCain (Anti-Constitutionalist Socialists all) are not going to be President and run the ship of state into the shoals of Socialism then I want what y’all are smoking.

Once one of these monsters succeeds this idiot, America will look like this…

Mr. Piatak. I disagree with you about as often as Ted Kennedy makes sense (never).

However, I think you are a bit off in that from the very beginning Rush has made it clear he is a Republican.

In the 80’s the cola wars pitted Coke against Pepsi. Who won the cola wars? Coke and Pepsi. This is because they took so much attention away from other soft drink companies they grabbed all of the market share. With neither Hilary or Barack dropping out they both are doing the same thing. They are, between them, getting so much attention it is making McCain seem irelevent. So much for Operation Chaos - just more free advertising for the Democrats!

Hillary is worse than Obama. What a nightmare Hillary or McCain. 100% owned by the Israeli lobby. Obama at least seems to have some independence of mind. He does promise to end Iraq involment and to at least talk to Iran before blowing them up.

I turned off Rush,Hannity,Fox and National Review in 2002 2003 when they went all war, all Israel, all the time. The consevative movement has morphed into the Country club neocon network. Let the Republicans go the way of the
Whigs. Vote third party show them we are not all sheep.

Limbaugh is nothing more than a water carrier for the neo-cons and McCain is their serf and his ditto-head listeners the bleatist sheep from Animal Farm.

Operatio chaos..what a joke. Its like giving kids a secret ring to make them feel like they are part of something special. Next thing ya know he’ll be selling his sheople sea-monkeys or X-ray glasses.

Limbaugh caved in to the pressure to stop doing his “caller abortions”.  It’s been downhill ever since.

“...view Clinton as preferable to Obama because she’s far more likely to continue supporting the war and far less likely enact a change in our relationship with Israel.” R. Spencer

“The Iraqi war is a war for Israeli territorial expansion.  Americans are dying and bleeding to death financially for Israel.  Bush’s “war on terror” is a hoax that serves to cover US intervention in the Middle East in behalf of “greater Israel.”” Paul Craig Roberts (Google ‘Greater Israel’ and look at the map)

I think the purpose of Operation Chaos is to eliminate Obama because he is perceived as not being sufficiently pro-Israel.  I bet Rush doesn’t really care if Clinton or McCain wins.  The Lobby doesn’t, either.

This is hilarious listening to you people Everyone is supposedly out to get poor Obama.  Wake up.  He is the establishment choice. The Democratic party and the MSM have been pushing this guy since day one.  They certainly like Hillary and McCain too, but they have no problem with Obama.  The establishment is what gives him his teflon coating.

Seems like the people who are obsessed with getting Obama elected have a personal grudge against one- and only one-branch of the establishment, that being the neo-cons and are content to ignore the other enemies we have.

As for Limbaugh, he always was a Republican, but at one time he was able to think independently.  He would blast the phony Republicans as well as the Dems.  Sometime around 1993 or so, he became a made man in the Republican party.

I am glad to see Operation Chaos is working.  At least it gives people a choice.  I will happily vote for Hillary to screw McCain.  And if McCain wins, at least it isn’t Obama.

I have no desire to have Obama win.I just want Clinton and McCain to lose.If the the Israeli lobby hates Obama that is a good thing. The whole bomb Iran thing by Hillary is just a push for more AIPAC money.

I’m not the biggest Limbaugh fan. The fat man has an extremely pompous opinion of himself that he is not shy about displaying to his audience. However, to his credit, I have recently heard Limbaugh speak disparagingly of McCain. Limbaugh recognizes the dire threat that open-border worshipping presidential candidates present to the future of Western Civilization. But like me, he has settled for the president who “probably” wants to secure the border first before dealing out amnesty. In stark contrast to McCain, Hillary and Obama have openly declared their antipathy for border security and even support such ludicrous ideas as giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. For those of you who are voting for a president based upon their foreign policy orientation, I urge you to realize that securing the border is the issue of our time. What happens in Iraq pales in comparison to the irreversible destruction we face as a nation if we do not stop the tide of third-world immigration into our country. Iraq is nothing, the border is everything. Vote for the president who will do the most to secure our borders, even if it’s not much.

Rush’s Operation Chaos is just an excuse for Rush, et al. not to examine the political landscape, post-Bush, in public, in real time, on the air. Period.
As the muslims might say: Rush and the Bushbots are “stomach people” as opposed to “heart people”.
Fat, lazy, sluggish, dull, etc.
It’s so obvious.

Operation Chaos has been great for Limbaugh financially. Think of all the money he’s made hawking t-shirts, caps and other junk. I suspect this was the main reason for this and the braindead dittoheads fall for this crap.
