The Soviet Union Is Still Dead
The border dispute between Russia and Georgia over South Ossetia has inspired much breathless commentary, including Andrew McCarthy at NRO proclaming this the “Soviets’ rebirth.”
Before hyperventilating, McCarthy would be well advised to read some back issues of National Review. As that magazine long argued, what made the Soviet Union such a dangerous threat was the Communist ideology the Soviet Union embodied, an ideology that gave the Soviets many Western admirers and allies and also propelled the Soviets toward confrontation with the West. Soviet Communism is dead, and what is going on in South Ossetia is an old-fashioned border squabble of the type that the United States has wisely stayed out of for most of our history.

It is a complete mischaracterisation to call it “an old-fashioned border squabble”. There are several factors involved that amount to a lot more than a fight over a relatively small area. These include: Russia trying to preserve its area of influence free from meddling by America and Israel who have been pumping arms and military advisors in to the area and signing military pacts with Georgia and inducing Georgia to join NATO etc; Russia trying to keep USA/Israel from controlling vital oil/gas pipelines exiting the central Asian fields.

Regardless of what the U.S. should do, the only thing the Russians are trying to maintain in South Ossetia is a military base in Georgia, otherwise Georgia would have a nice mountain range with only a single road between them and Russia, and Russia would have little say in Georgian affairs. Can’t blame the Georgians for wanting that. The Russians don’t give a damn about the 70,000 South Ossetians, and they’ve already threatened the Ukraine over this matter. Calling it a “Soviet rebirth” is a large exaggeration, but it is closer to the truth than calling it just “an old fashion border squabble.”
BTW, go over to the Guardian UK site and you’ll find plenty of Western admirers and allies of the Russian action among the children of those who would have thrown garlands to Soviet tanks had they arrived in Western Europe and Britain a generation or two ago.

Poor Georgia:
The latest killing field of the 2,000 year old war between the jews and the gentiles.
The zionists may have made a pact of the “exodus” with the anti-semites, and got the support of the gentntiles to get the hell out, but they want revenge. They want to bring down the gentiles in a new crusade and they want to mess with the gentiles.
Hence, the zionist sent arms and equipment and “retired” Israeli army personnel to set this false flag operation up.
Russia wants them to stay away. Just check out the panic at Haaretz, as the rats jump the Georgian ship. They are beginning to realize that as far as Russia is concerned, enough is enough.
For now.

When it comes to it, Russia is no more “wrong” to pursue it’s policies than the USA would be in pursuing a policy of supporting a particular brand of Revolution in Nicaragua.
This is like a fan of the Houston Astros supporting a particular side in a match-up between the Oakland Athletics and the Seattle Mariners.
Reality is: it doesn’t matter, neither of the three of them are going to play one another in the play-offs.

They are not playing a ball game in Georgia, they are in an “all out war” per the BBC,
Here you can see the panic amongst the zionist conspiritors:

Isn’t it time to begin to come clean?

Like I stated elsewhere, anyone that is taking advice from Israel, after they had their asses handed to them by Hamas in Lebanon, is asking for defeat.
Some advice: Israel isn’t “unbeatable”. If you want some advice, I’ll give it to you: don’t pull your pants down, hoping to “moon” some irritable jack-booted dude. You just might have your ass kicked before you know it. Especially if you don’t have the fists to back up your “moon”.
It is quite obvious that the Georgians have bought into the MYTH of the indestructible Israel. Too bad for them. Our best hope is that the Georgians realize that the Russians have their best interests in mind, and switch partners from Israel and come begging back at the table of Russia.

It was Hezbollah who handed the Israelis their asses in Lebanon.

You don’t seem to get it.
Ask yourself: What business does a shitty little country have baiting the bear if all they want is a homeland???????????? on someone else’s land??????
What Mel Gibson Said was right!
Check out the panic at Haaretz, as they realize, this time the Gentiles have had enough!

Tom, I like your posts and read them daily. But where is Chris Roach? I haven’t seen anything from him in quite some time.

I want to compliment Mr. Piatak and the posters above for very
insightful comments.

Good posting, Tom, and, I agree with “the original jack,” the follow-up messages are
insightful and add to the information. On one thing I think we can all agree: the US
should stay completely OUT of that confict. And our State Dept. officials (and Prez)
should simply shut up. How would we feel if the Mexicans reclaimed the Gadsden Purchase,
the Russkies demanded that WE withdraw our troops?

The one thing that convinces me that this was not a Russian provocation was that it started up right before the opening of the Olympic Games.
I have said for quite a while that, for all the fuss about Iran, there are two (and only two) real strategic threats to the United States, and since it all comes down to throw weight, you can guess who they are.
Russia and China.
Rotating the pyramid (I won’t call it a “revolution”!), the same is true for Russia: China and the United States are true strategic threats.
Vladimir Putin is too cautious to start a shooting scrape during the opening of the Olympic Games and thus cost Brother Han face.
Saakashvili rolled the dice.
Too early to say for sure, but every new NATO state must be asking themselves, “OK, so would the US really come to our aid?”
Things are clarifying, and not to our advantage.

The Cheney Regency apparently forgot one of the cardinal rules of hunting large and dangerous game such as Russian bears. One must be absolutely sure that the quarry is dead, from a safe distance, before proceeding to gut it. Moving NATO up to the Russian borders, indeed not closing NATO as the Russians did the Warsaw Pact, were major mistakes. By surging into former Soviet Republics in the Caspian Basin, and trying to corner the oil market in Russia’s back yard, and also encouraging Russian enemies and attacking Russian allies, it is not surprising that this unfortunate war has resulted. I think that by moving into South Ossetia, Putin has effectively kicked sand into the face of The Decider, and thrown a wrench into the Central Asian Oil and Gas Grab. I suspect that the assault on Iran is looking less likely right now, too.

What the hell does this have to do with Israel?
Are we to bring back all trapings of Czarist era Slavophilia? Are Pogroms to come next?
Plenty of countries have sold arms to Georgia. However, Israel failed to sell upgrades to the Georgian air force because Putin said not to do so.
(Compare that to Russia arming Israel’s enemies, for those who care about facts not Czarist forgeries.)
Russia wants to conquer Georgia and take over the oil pipleline from Azerbaijan, as part of its increasing straglehold on Europe.
Retaking Stalin’s birthplace is just icing on the cake for Putin and his anti-i-Western and anti-Christian Orthodox conspiracy.
Because of Georgia falls, Ukraine is next.

No it doesn’t. Russia removed its military base from Georgia last year. The only reason Russia is attacking Georgia now, is that Georgia’s armed forced killed 2,000 Ossetians in one day, many of them Russian passport holders.

Why would you be here defending Georgia if this didn’t have any thing to do with Israel?
Why bring up Czars and Slavophilia if this didn’t have any thing to do with Jews and Israel? You’re only reinforcing what anti-semites are saying, rather than taking the moral high ground and not making about race.

We must stop Putin! He’s just like Hitler - I tells ya. First Georgia, then Armenia, then Estonia, and Uzbekistan. Before you know it we’ll all be speaking Russian and drinking Vodka. Damn, let’s fight ‘em now rather on the beaches of Carmel. I don’t want the Russkies to outlaw ‘Vhiskey’ and force us to eat Bosch.
