While I?ve seen some remark that Plaxico Burress?s sentence may have been too harsh, not enough attention has been paid to Mike Bloomberg?s chest beating in the face of Plaxico?s arrest.  How can a person expect even treatment from the D.A. when the mayor publicly calls for him to be prosecuted ?to the fullest extent of the law??

Sure, we don?t want handguns discharged in nightclubs (except maybe at karaoke bars where none of the bystanders would be innocent), but we also don?t want mayors putting pressure on prosecutors and potentially tainting juries by declaring sentences from on high.
