Understanding that most readers here have long since abandoned hope of anything useful being accomplished by Movement Conservatism and the GOP political apparatus, nevertheless you might be interested to know how the battle lines are forming in the Movement’s latest internal skirmish.
When Rush Limbaugh’s CPAC speech made him a target of such Republicans as David Frum, there developed an argument among some Republican bloggers as to whether Limbaugh’s combative rhetoric against the Obama regime was a liability to the Movement. This argument replicated, in many ways, the pro-Palin/anti-Palin debate, as well as the debate over the Tea Party strategy of protesting Obamanomics, which is to say it pitted populists against elitists, a conflict where my own sympathies are inevitably with the populists.
