As the resident honorary Idahoan here (Mom and Dad were born in Salmon and both attended U of I for a year prior to graduating elsewhere, Mom’s uncle was a long-time dean there, Dad’s aunt was on the Board of Regents, Dad’s family has lived there since my immigrant Great-Great-Grandfather Gutzman (ne’ Gutzmann) moved there from Prussia in the late nineteenth century), I should point out to Paul Gottfried that U of I is not Idaho State. Sarah Palin graduated from the U of I, as did several of my relatives. (That’s not to say that none of them graduated from ISU. At least one did.)
