Yes I know, Left and Right are supposed to be united against evil “pork-barrel spending”—all that money should be spent on democracy in Baghdad or “the poor” (read: open-ended war and/or entitlement spending.) I, for one, hope and pray that my income might be used for things like new bike trails in Virginia, Walter Jones’s project for a Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in North Carolina, or perhaps that new Lobster Institute in Maine.
