Is the new virus the biggest scam in history? There are many doubts about the official version, and skeptics or deniers are emerging all across the planet. Something good had to come from the global village of the internet to fight against the single-mindedness that too many governments are trying to impose. They may hide their smiles with an egalitarian mask, but the mind must fly free and allow itself to doubt rather than accept the new dogma. That is at least the Western tradition that was born in luminous Greece, again at war with a barbarian invasion.

Freedom has been blurred by a propaganda of fear, and government measures bring us closer to the Chinese way of life than any train on the Silk Road. That is why protests are growing all over Europe (immediately demonized by the media mask) against measures that in too many cases are as totalitarian as they are ridiculous.

A good friend calls me from vibrant Mombasa to tell me that all this is a new 9/11 orchestrated by the most powerful companies in the world. That the new virus is nowhere near as deadly as malaria. That it is being blown up to curb our rights, that the goal is to sterilize a large part of the population to make a more sustainable planet, that the expected vaccine carries an on-off control chip in our lives…

As a good plutocrat pirate, my friend hopes to circumvent the mandatory vaccine with some Kenyan black-market certificates, at least to be able to travel freely.

Who knows? It is as if there is an attempt to establish a new robotic nightmare religion. The new gurus of cyber-onanism claim that nothing will ever be the same again. Artificial intelligence is encouraged as much as natural intelligence is diminished. Algorithms dictate actions while denying free will. These are the times of the aseptic homo deus, a nanotechnological creature who pretends to live for 200 years cholesterol-free, and whose mortal sins are smoking a cigarette, drinking a toast in the bar, or having sex freely—that means permanent confinement against vital intoxication!

“The mind must fly free and allow itself to doubt rather than accept the new dogma.”

The acolytes of the new robotic sect are enemies of spontaneousness. In their new fervor they remind me of some bright sparks who went out with the bloody French Revolution, who wanted to found a new religion. The very cynical and mocking Talleyrand knew how to stop them: “For my part I have only one observation to make. Jesus Christ, to found his religion, was crucified and resurrected. You should have tried something similar.”

But the infected governments of this planet have taken tremendous measures to fight against the new plague. And another doubt arises from science fiction with a hippie accent: Is it possible that they are following an extraterrestrial dictate?

At the moment, another doubt of a more mundane and economic nature is timidly beating. If it is proven that the virus was invented in a Chinese laboratory and escaped through negligence, then China, to which everyone owes money, would have to face the greatest compensation in history.

The only thing I am sure of is that, this fall, my bar at home will have to be taken care of very seriously.
