BUGGERY, SODOMY, AND THE LASH
It was a bad week for buggerers, as men in England, Canada, Ireland“€”and, yet again, England“€”either pleaded guilty to or were convicted on buggery charges.

In sodomy news, Virginia removed its ban on oral and anal sex from the state code. In Texas, a supporter of Harris County Republican Party Chairmen Jared Woodfill alliteratively wrote in a fundraising letter that “Our Founding Fathers would be furious to find out that the Constitution was being interpreted to allow sodomites to marry.”

In Malaysia, politician Anwar Ibrahim had a sodomy acquittal overturned and will be spending five years in prison as a result. One Malaysian website called the debacle a “national shame,” lamenting that “Every child and student is now well versed by the media going to market with anus, sperms [sic] and butt intrusion details.”

The Dalai Lama, who once classified homosexuality as “misconduct,” now says that homosexuality “is okay.”

And in the lovely and eminently livable African nation of Nigeria, a judge sentenced four reputed homosexuals to receive 20 lashes each rather than the death penalty because the offenses occurred long ago and they had “repented.”

MOTHERS BEHAVING BADLY
As women across the globe celebrated International Women’s Day on Saturday, it is important for both genders to acknowledge that women”€”particularly cruel or neglectful mothers”€”at least share some role in creating this mythical beast known as “misogyny.”

Last week Ebony Wilkerson, a pregnant mother of three, allegedly tried to drive her children into the ocean but was stopped by lifeguards and other onlookers. She is currently facing attempted-murder charges.

In Los Angeles, 32-year-old Sidnicka Wilson is being charged with child abuse after reportedly allowing her children, aged two and three, to wander city streets unaccompanied.

In Wisconsin, 25-year-old Secoy Koch-Miller has been charged with neglect resulting in harm after her two-year-old son was “found underneath a bunch of old clothing…covered with bug bites…[with] a bruised eye and spiders in his hair.” The house was reportedly strewn with feces, urine, trash, and maggots.

In Florida, 23-year-old Alyssia Skinner was sentenced to 17 years in prison on child-abuse charges after authorities found her 17-month-old daughter with “muscles and tendons fused in the fetal position as she tried to conserve body heat for days at a time in the cold.” The infant was discovered “laying in her own human waste” with “a hole in her face,” and her brain had “shifted to one side of her head.”

Unimaginable cruelty”€”it’s not just a guy thing. And the sooner that society acknowledges this fact, the easier it will be for us to negotiate an armistice to the gender wars.
